Cloud of Paradox

Everything changes and nothing ever remains

Even the tear that’s supposed to leave a stain

I just can’t seem to get out of the rain

The losses are great with minimal gains,

Looking back onto the fool I was

One good intention led to another because

He who talks but there’s nothing he ever does

A soldier who goes to battle no beard just peach fuzz,

Although it’s just another day

Got to keep from feeling swept away

The past and the present always in a fray

In the midst of the confusion I get on my knees and pray,

Is there any hope left in this world of woe?

Will there be one last final blow?

Even the wisest among us don’t really know

The silence of new fallen snow,

Is there any way to pull out of this death spiral dive?

On this blue planet where life thrives

Evil world leaders grasping for long knives

I fear there’s only a miracle that can revive,

Where did you go my little ones?

You were destined to find life is not always fun

But your father’s forgotten and on the run

Stranger things have happened under the sun,

I stumble within this cloud of paradox

Caught among fools who can’t think out of the box

With their minds they fabricate road blocks

Waiting for my ship to come in here on the docks.
