Many people have seen and commented upon the Washington Post article on the Oakland OWS police riots where, in typcal MSM bootlickery, the photo accompanying the article featured a female police officer petting a cat that had supposedly been abandoned by the evil cat hating protestors. Quite a blatant piece of propaganda it seems.
But wait, the rabbit hole goes deeper yet. As it turns out this seemingly innocent photo actually shows the officer cruelly applying a small dose of pepper spray directly to the cat's eyes while he bravely maintains a peaceful and zen like calm. Furthermore not only was this cat NOT abandoned by protestors, but was in fact there protesting himself.
Many people believe that police violence targeting cats merely for being cats ended with the 60's but not so.
In a study conducted at the University Of Stanislope it was revealed that police often treat cat protestors more harshly than those of other species. The study also showed that cats are 4x as likely to be pepper sprayed or beaten with batons by police than are humans, dogs, or even apes (and we all know where that's heading).
As can be seen below incidents of police violence involving pepper spray does not only chemical damage but also packs a huge physical punch as well due to the dimiuitive stature of cat physiology.
Such behavior does not arise in a vaccuum either. It is rather a systemic culture of violence and ant-catite specisim that encourages these things to happen.
This picture was taken at the Oakland, CA Canine Police Academy where it can be seen that an unnamed cat has been dressed up as a nazi in order to teach canine recruits anti-catite propaganda.
Other pictures from the Oakland Canine Police Academy shows senior instructor Fritz Hermann demonstrating a classic feline takedown procedure officially banned since a 1973 civil rights case deemed it to be innapropriate except in cases of imminent threat.
A human instructor at the academy demonstrates a prison style choke hold.
Depicting cat terrorism in this propaganda poster the FBI was forced to admit that this photo was staged after the cat in the photo was identified as Bob (fluffy) Greenbaum, a known FBI informant.
Normally anti-catism is hidden in this day and age but an ad from a police equipment catelog shows it to be not only alive and well, but occasionally more open than one might expect.
Few news outlets reported on it but at the 'battle in seattle' WTO protests cats were the first to be detained. Locked away at the decommissioned Sand Point Naval Reservation (now a designated FEMA camp) in Seattle, these cats were incarcerated with no food or heat for over 36 hours.
Police violence never comes more swiftly than when attending an all-cat protest.
Obviously cat repression by the police is not a thing of the past. We can only hope that the hearts and minds of those who carry out such violent scenes will someday change. One must wonder, however, just how swiftly that might occur when even politicians and religious leaders openly wear their anti-catite sentiments on their sleeve.
