Draft-dodging Mitt Romney
Exclusive: Andrew Longman explains how candidate got out of Vietnam service

Published: 02/03/2012 at 7:44 PM

By Andrew Longman

Mitt Romney doesn’t describe himself as a draft dodger. He does his best to portray an “apple pie and the flag” image of Americana. He likes to be known as Mr. Toughguy and a strong-military Republican. And so it may come as a bit of a shock to the average reader to learn that Romney wiggled out of the draft during Vietnam. It’s one of the many concussions from Boston Globe reporters Michael Kranish and Scott Helman in their new book, “The Real Romney.”

Willard “Mitt” Romney started college with an academic deferment. Being at Stanford was an automatic get-out-of-war-free card for him, the reasons our country allowed college students this at the time being a worthy focus for another column. But then Romney left Stanford to go work full-time for the Mormons.

I was addressing it to no one........just making an  observation......one is no better then the other......one is a coward, and the other sleeps with the enemy, in my opinion.........i am just so FED UP with the state of things in our country, and all the wrongs being done to the people, and the wrongs that are coming our way........and the lousy future our children and grand children are gonna have......i'm no politician, by any stretch of the imagination, but i DO REMEMBER when this country was ours........clear back before i went to the Nam.....ever since Nam, its been about corporate greed.......ok, i went on a rant,  i apologize........

I didn't watch madcow either, but there is a clip explaining Romney s silver spoon run away from our draft.

SO who are you addressing your message to Thomas? The majority of folks here see beyond a right or left, and the two party dictatorship. You wont find any love for Obama here I expect.

Troy,

I think you meant to say Rachel MadCow......

First off, I wouldn't watch Rachael Maddow because it is Israel that is destroying the US from the inside out. Secondly, I couldn't care less about Mittens or his previous lack of military experience. What branch did Obama serve in? In fact, what country was he born in?

George Washing University Constitutional Law Professor, Jonathan Turley, wisely noted, "Anyone who believes there are two parties in Washington DC is a fool."

I agree with him and I add my own 2 cents:  Anyone who votes inside the 'red pill/blue pill' box this time around is a traitor.

Repocrats and Demopublicans not a dimes wirth of difference. They all serve Israel.

AIPAC and ADL should be registered as foreign agents.  Dissolve the FED.

As if serving in the US military is an honorable endeavor!!!  Wake up!
