Crumbling All Around Us
Since you walked out the door
Nothing seems to fit anymore
I may have stumbled and fallen on the floor
Thought I couldn't take it anymore,
What was there to live for?
What did life have left in store?
Was I really such a bore?
What kind of insanity did you adore?
Questions that come to mind
When loved ones are no longer kind
Is there anyone left who has a spine?
The field of my life seems mined,
Still trying to rise above
This eroding drought of love
This is not what dreams are made of
Whatever happened to that gentle dove?
Staring into an abyss
For so long I haven't known bliss
In life there should be more than this
Remembering a passionate kiss,
This mirage we call life
It cuts deep like a knife
All the unnecessary strife
Another estranged wife,
Now the world crumbles all around us
You're out of line if you make a fuss
Preoccupied with materialism and lust
Just when you thought you had it all sussed.
