Jimmy Carter recently pronounced the Muslim Brotherhood nothing to worry about. As always, Carter couldn't be more wrong.
Shortly after 9/11, the FBI uncovered a Muslim Brotherhood plot to set up front groups in the U.S., like the Muslim Student Association, to give the appearance of being a part of America's social fabric. The FBI learned that wasn't the Brotherhood's intention at all. Instead, Brotherhood documents revealed that the group wants to destroy America from top to bottom. For more than 80 years, the Muslim Brotherhood has been the fountainhead of radical Islamic groups created to advance Islam across the globe. The Muslim Brotherhood has helped finance at least a dozen radical Islamic terror groups, including Hamas and al Qaeda.
Like Carter before him, Barack Obama has made disastrous mistakes in the Middle East. Most recently, he changed decades of United States' policy by declaring that Israel should return to its 1967 borders – completely siding with the terrorist organizations PLO and Hamas – each supported by the Muslim Brotherhood.
No one understands the threat the Muslim Brotherhood and the Jihad pose to our freedom than our own Robert Spencer. You won't need to be reminded that the Brotherhood has initiated and supported a dozen terrorist groups, including Hamas and al Qaeda. But you and I need to do everything we can to show the American people precisely what this ruthless organization is, who its leaders are, and expose its ties to America's radical left. Remember, after Obama vowed to "fundamentally transform America," he immediately went to the Middle East and began apologizing for America. Not only did he bow to the Saudi King, he went out of his way to paint the U.S. as an imperialistic, war-mongering tyrant. So it made sense that Obama not only fed longtime ally Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak to the wolves, but also moved quickly to legitimize the Muslim Brotherhood.
Now the Brotherhood has vowed to become a political force in Egypt – all the while spreading more hate and destruction. Already 85% of Egyptians believe leaving Islam is a capital offense punishable by death. With access to official government channels, the Brotherhood's scope and influence will only increase. As Americans we absolutely must be fully prepared to counter them, because today the Brotherhood's influence in America extends beyond the MSA. The Brotherhood helped establish so-called "outreach" groups like the Islamic Society of North America and the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), all created to give the appearance of taking part in American democracy. But they've pledged allegiance to Mohammed, not our flag, and we must continue to show the American people their agenda and their connections to the radical left. That is why the Freedom Center and Jihad Watch's work is so vital and that's why I'm reaching out to you today.
