Deserving Charity

Trying to find love in a world that has changed
Really demonically re-arranged
Are all of my efforts in vain?
Those persisitent recollections of pain,

i didn't ask for all this confusion
This place of shadows and illusions
You don't have to look far to get a contusion
A hard place to find a solution,

I didn't ask for this shadow dance
A place devoid of romance
A global cabal of psychophants
Searching for a second chance,

Caught in  a maze of doubt
Baby it makes me want to shout
What is all this deception all about?
Because I'm a believer but not devout?

Maybe it's because I lost the dogfight
Air to air combat in the darkest of nights
He told me to break right
Now I'm going down with my flight,

Down down down that's my plight
Takes away the anticipation and fright
Reality takes a huge bite
I'm out of mind and out of sight,

As for the future I might add
It all seemed so easy when I was but a lad
Wasting my time in my brand new pad
Chased by realizations too sad,

As if it were a guaranty
I prayed and prayed to my diety
And just between you nad me
I guess I didn't deserve his charity.
