Echoes of Distant Thunder

The fabric of space and time

Clinging onto my celestial wind chime

As upon the tidal wave of human tragedy I climb

Carefully tight roping that thin red line,

Can’t imagine a more confusing age

Where non-intellectual body tattoos are the rage

Where history is forgotten just turn the page

Where reptilian entities emerge on the threat gauge,

Megalomaniacs and their slanted politics

Hanging with fentanyl dealers as their favorite cliques

Hard to tell the difference between the men and the chicks

Remember they said the presidential election was a fix,

They keep saying that it’s all about the science

When it’s really drivel from the unholy alliance

We who seek truth are maligned for our defiance

It seems all truth is reserved for paying clients,

Although World War III could be just around the corner

The government punishes whistleblowers and informers

The VP is the queen of lies as the flies adorn her

Our so-called leaders are merely performers,

How did I get to this point I wonder?

With all semblance of comfort torn asunder

I’ll admit that I made a few blunders

But for the echoes of distance thunder.
