Eleven men 'plied girls of 13 with drink and drugs to use them for sex'

• One girl claimed her phone number was passed around the men who then exploited her for sex
• One girl, 13, became pregnant and had to have the child aborted
• Another said she was raped by two men while she was so drunk she vomited over the side of the bed
• A 16-year-old girl is alleged to have 'recruited' the girls for the men
• The men all knew each other from a takeaway and a taxi service

A gang of 11 men plied schoolgirls as young as 13 with drink and drugs before they raped them, a court heard yesterday.

The vulnerable children were passed among the group and sometimes forced to have sex with several men in one day.

The young girls, who all came from broken homes, were often too incapacitated by drink or drugs to be able to fend off the men, it was alleged.

The jury heard one 13-year-old girl became pregnant by one man and had the baby aborted, while another teenager claimed she was raped by three men while she was being sick over the side of the bed.

The gang was eventually smashed by police who arrested 11 men who yesterday appeared in court charged with a variety of sex offences against children, including rape, trafficking, sexual assault and conspiracy to engage in sexual activity with a child.
