Linear worlds never seem to hold together

I' m feeling as light as a feather

Lying with her in a field of heather

The world held in place by a fragile tether.

A slippage in time is all it takes

Looking back at all the mistakes

What kind of future will man make?

Nothing authentic anymore it's all fake,

Parallel realities that float in a vast sea

All that vanishes into a memory

She drifted away but not ever so gently

I sit on this fortress of shifting sand

The end of another soul devouring night

All my demons have taken flight

Somewhere there's an answer to man's plight

Somewhere seagulls are in the sky

Fallen from grace a disgraced sailor of the sea

Gliding high above the destruction no sentimentality,

The hallowed ground where the Unknown Soldier was laid

How many fled who should have stayed?

Ask those who were abandoned never portrayed,

Do you ever really know when you’re alive?

Do you ever really appreciate when you thrive?

Perhaps it’s that last moment knowing you won’t survive
