FINK WORLD Aug 5th, 2010 by pat donovan
The info-space. Surveillance society and a weasel-incorporated rat-race. Climb by slime over-achievement types.
Badnews Bessie on a slightly psychotic power trip. Lynchmob fast lane.
Clerk-world. (If it isn't in the book, it doesn't exist.)
Putting the dis in discredit on steroids. Putting spin into 'His bad, your goodness' and trivializing everything else, if you like complicating things.
Ow ow ow ow ow! Enough already.
FW will mostly be self-serving bullshit shoveled out as the hot news of the day. Cannibalizing self-serving bullshit, to be more precise.
Bragging, gossip or plotting? That gets a little complicated, actually. Not unknown, just complicated.
Ya see, socially-orientated people are usually one step removed from a ghetto (And trying desperately to march everyone right back in one with them. IE: Females and other 'passionate' cultures. When tradition and proper form are more important than results, I guess. Look it up (sociology) sometime, it goes from scary to creepy REAL fast.)
'Reason over passion, even if your mother didn't.' failure.
See?
And vanity politics is completely loony, as solutions or work don't usually help (win succeed correct) or even apply, unless absolutely necessary.
Fixing is grunt work. CREDIT is a matter of record. This will be WAY more than changing the names in a story to suit yourself.
Sorta the single-issue politics, writ large. Vanity will probably be the only issue too, maslov not withstanding.
Sad, but true. Gaming doesn't allow for anything else , really... AND I see that as the highest level of man 's development.
Man = (teleological (implies hedonistic), abstracting, (language, math, music) gamer). Telo, abstracting, gamer, got it?
Life, (especially a social life instead of a real one), is a political act. So, next up, politics is an excersise in vanity patronage-power.
And it's usually vanity politics, (the 'vanity, vengeance, paranoia' cycle. Macho translates out as vengeance, right? Do you want to live next door to someone with 'REVENGE!' tattooed on their forehead?)
The patronage does seem to be a Spanish model. (personal, family, tribe, region, country)
The company-man model has NOTHING on warlord politics in the workplace. (Think religious loon. My country, right or wrong. My win or nothing.)
THE TEAM. (We're right, everyone else is wrong.)
1: You're for or against us. (me)
2: it's compulsory or forbidden.
3: guilty, guilty, guilty!
So everything that happens is filtered thru vanity and applied to personal goals, got it? See anything 'different' recently?
Or more personal gain, really.
(Even if it's a 'this had better be a compliment or it's an personal insult'. Hotties LIVE like this. One step removed from thinking with your clit, but I see a lot of that too. Creepy, eh?)
is supreme, at the expense of all other rationalities. Even survival.
I don't know, I don't care, what's in it for me?
This is the power of 'no!' politics. Clerk-world.
Clerks don't adapt to change very well. Problems even less so if sleaze (shifting blame or warlords) doesn't work as a solution.
Here's to the single raindrop claiming it's not responsible for the flood. Fink-World. The tragedy of the commons, again. (Over-grazing is a personal win and a social disaster.)
They are the ones doing 'it' to us.
