First They Came For The 9/11 Truthers
and I did not speak out--because I believed the official story;
Then they came for the unemployed, and I did not speak out—because I had a job;
Then they came for those who had lost their homes, and I did not speak out-because I had my home;
Then they came for the working class poor, and I did not speak out—because I wasn't poor;
Then they came for the peaceful protesters, and I did not speak out--because I didn't protest;
Then they came for the middle class, and I did not speak out—because I was not part of the middle class;
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak out for me.
You might laugh. This isn't funny, it's closer to reality than you might realize.

Not sure I want to be around when "the future" happens...but I'm really glad I didn't bring any children into this world who would be forced to find out.
Later in life (after I really stopped following him), George Carlin struck me more weird and political than anything else....not that I made the time and effort to really follow him. Then again...at the time...I was more "sheeple" than I am now.
Especially other than that....George Carlin was The Man!

Yes! Carlin was a true prophet and many people missed that aspect of his comedy. I'm glad you mentioned him.
You are a true optimist and I am a true pessimist. Yes, there have always been evil men. However, their global reach has never been so vast and all encompassing. We'll both be around for a while yet. Together we'll see what the future brings, and I'm glad to say, "I'm with you, whatever happens!"

I'm getting old sitting here. I'm convinced we're members of a dying republic. Too much has taken place SINCE 9/11 to convince me otherwise. The majority of this country, and even those who want us out of Afghanistan, believe there's a Muslim threat. It's preposterous. The false war on terror, 9/11, the banker bailout, the flu pandemic, Operation Cast Lead, (and SO MUCH more) it's a constant deluge of absolutely false propaganda and there are VERY FEW people that can see through the lies, very few. The large majority are totally propagandized. Terribly sad. There are 535 criminals managing this country and most of the globe as well and they're well entrenched.
