Foolish Christmas Thoughts I choose
Oh the mistletoe the mistletoe time to stand beneath the mistletoe
Nice to have someone to embrace and kiss so slow
Ah, but life and those unanticipated blows
And when that cold sets in and it snows,
I gave up wondering where you might be
Thanks to all the things you said to me
For so long there hasn't been a Christmas tree
Or joy of the season to set me free,
Skeletal trees, fallen leaves, and a gray sky
Coming to terms with so many of life's lies
Yet, I occasionally think of your dark eyes
And feeling sorry for you when you cried,
A time of year when the cold wind blows
Giving hopeful children a runny nose
My Christmas spirit seems in repose
Where's my partner beneath the mistletoe?
Is there any cure for the Christmas blues?
God there just has to be some hopeful news
Should I jump in a sleigh and take a cruise?
Or could it be all the foolish thoughts I choose?
Oh the mistletoe the mistletoe time to stand beneath the mistletoe
Nice to have someone to embrace and kiss so slow
Ah, but life and those unanticipated blows
And when that cold sets in and it snows.
