The parasitic realm from where fools play

For too long I frolicked in the forbidden realm
While Captain Infinity was at the helm
Wreaking havoc upon dimensions unknown
And too late I realized the tainted seeds I'd down,
For all the waking hours I exist
Shall I forever regret that forbidden tryst
As I stare at my reflections from the abyss
I fear something is vaguely amiss,
Evangeline, you flutter on deceitful breezes
As an oblivious universe silently sneezes
As my grip on heartbreak squeezes
Yet, your cold heart simply freezes,
Cast out like an imperfect organism
It seems I’m suffering from some kind of schism
Perhaps it’s just my delusional version of realism
Cursed forever by romanticism,
Walking though dreams never meant to be
Thinking that only they belong to me
The wizards of deception and their mastery
Have done a great job on humanity,
The shadows that flitter about my room
That seem to be predicting my doom
Carving the sculpture of gloom
I must decipher the puzzle soon,

But I never found delusions to be divine
Give me something to hold onto that is so sublime
Given the chance I’ll stumble every time,
This faltering confession I give to thee
Evangeline, instead of facing the truth you’d rather flee
You made life into a cold bitter cup of tea
Like two doomed souls floating on a raft out to sea.
