N.A.T.O forces involved in operations with Libyan rebels should be held partially responsible for civilian casualties. At the very least they are grossly negligent. Emphasis definitely, added. As for the rebels?
These undisciplined guerrillas, ignorant to the ways of the puppet masters and their tangled web of invisible strings, will be used and discarded, like Grandpa's old fishing line at the start of trout season. So what? What do you care? Is what the sheople begin bleating on about until it ALL sounds the same from there. What do I care?
Well if N.A.T.O cared at all about finishing this conflict quickly with minimal casualties, they would train and better equip the rebels . Or how about our dumb ass leaders utilizing the so called smart bombs in our military arsenal reserved specifically for key military targets.
I say "our" military arsenal, because we paid for it. U.S tax payers. Makes you wonder what they are going to screw up next and how much it will cost us. Seems they break it and we buy it, then buy it again, and again, and...
Yep, it's ridiculous. To top it off, if you walk into the local pub or the dive bar down the street you won't hear the place buzzing with gossip about what's happening in Libya or the rest of Africa. Nope. No mention of Japan and what they are going through and how the U.S can help. Nada.
Topics of conversation are irrelevant to anything but the mundane. People are confined in attitude to their own selfish needs with their ego right at the center. Wit definitely happens. In fact it is often quite amusing. However egocentrism has done little in the way of making the world a better place. But to improve the world we have to make personal sacrifices and improve ourselves, first. Right? So maybe the answer lies in egocentrism after all. Perhaps it is the intention behind it that makes for meaningless bravado instead of real change.
These rebels are unscrupulous pawns and villians, mostly by proxy. But ignorance is no excuse for lack of conscience unless all of the rebels are sociopaths, or co opted fools and completely brainwashed. Maybe Philip Zimbardo was right. See, Lucifer Effect.
As for Geraldo...
Geraldo often plays devils advocate to the infowar. Although I believe he is a good guy that just turns a blind eye at times. To bad idealism so easily averts his narrow gaze from the truth staring him right in the face. I like Geraldo. At least I want to like him. I think of him as a know-it-all that means well. Objectively stated, a bad combination indeed.
Never the less, here is Geraldo, ducking for cover, much like our freedoms, as always he is making sense of the situation with good intentions, but failing to recognize the bigger picture.

I think the excuse for NATO's creation was to form an alliance of eastern european countries to combat potential soviet expansion. It would appear as if they have other objectives and new alliances these days.

I agree Sepp. Thus far this is a proxy war aside from the drone attacks and air strikes from U.S fighter jets. I was merely acknowledging the situation as it is now and criticizing the approach being used by NATO.
And to say Americans are part of the problem is really putting it nicely. We know this and that is why activists are trying so desperately to wake up this once great nation. Our military arm is strong but that is about it. The rest is slowly crumbling.

I'd say you guys (Americans) are part of the problem here. Libya is a sovereign country. No one, neither NATO, nor the UN, nor the US, has any business interfering in that country's affairs. Libya has not attacked anyone. Why are "our" planes attacking Gaddhafi's troops, and why are "our" militaries helping rebels in Libya?
Try and put yourselves on the receiving end of this scenario. I know it's difficult but try anyway, and you see how insane such an intervention is.
If we don't want complete, world wide anarchy, we cannot allow ANY country or combination of countries to intervene in the internal affairs of other countries. Wake up, people!
