Gun sales rise after mass shooting
Gun sales in Colorado increased about 40 percent starting the day after the mass shooting at a movie theater that killed 12 people. (Source: Rob Bixby Photography/Flickr)(RNN) – The demand for guns has spiked in Colorado following the mass shooting at a premiere of The Dark Knight Rises in Aurora.
The Colorado Bureau of Investigation approved background checks for nearly 3,000 people who wanted to purchase firearms between Friday and Sunday, according to The Denver Post. It was close to a 40 percent increase when compared to the previous two weekends.
An employee of a gun store in Parker, CO, told Denver Post he found 15 to 20 people waiting outside when he opened Friday.
