1.  Set up a computer with spectrogram analysis software then connect it to a sensor that receivers 0.1 Hz to 10 Hz, then you can detect the signature.   2.  The line of 2.5 Hz is the modulated heat signal that occured for 10 hours then after the Earthquake occured the modulated heat signal signed off at 8:30 UTC.   3.  It's like you turn on something and leave it on like a stove trying to boil a pot of water, leave for 10 minutes (10 hours in this spectrogram) and at 05:46 UTC it started to really boiled and caught on fire (caused the Earthquake) and then they turned off the stove (heat modulator).

A possibility perhaps except:

 

1. You absolutely CANNOT identify that wave as being 2.5Hz from the chart given. The time scale is far too broad for that.

 

2. Correlation doesn't necessarily indicate causation
