Heartburn, Indigestion, Genetically Modified Foods and Your Microwave

I wrote this in response to the blog regarding big pharma drugs Nexium and Prilosec. I realized that this is an important issue and would benefit from as many responses as possible. Most of us have familes and would never want to see harm come to them. But the truth is they are being harmed without our knowledge or consent. Seed producers, like Monsanto, are ruining the agriculture industry , forcing smaller farms to buy their genetically modified seed out of fear of being sued should some of Monsanto's seed be blown into or carried by birds from one field to another. We as Americans should be able to buy vegetables and products which will keep us healthy and help our children to grow (at normal rates). We do not want or need antibiotics in our milk , cheese, chicken, beef. To keep food safer, the ways in which these big companies do business needs to change. Stop buying their products when you become aware of unhealthy ingredients or that the food has been "modified" and share your information with as many people as you can. Most of them don't have a clue that the products (produce, dairy, meats, pre-made packaged foods) they consume on a daily basis could be harming themselves or their children. Stop asking your doctor for pills to relieve the symptoms you are having from eating mass manufatured and grown crap! Support your local farmers markets! Don't forget to ask questions when purchasing your groceries.... DON'T LIKE THE ANSWERS YOU ARE GETTING or if you don't get answers..... KEEP ASKING YOUR QUESTIONS UNTIL SOMEONE CAN OR DON'T SHOP THERE.

-------------------------------------------------------

Why are there so many people with heartburn, stomach problems and acid reflux disease? Could the reason possibly be that over the course of time people have become busier in their everyday lives, have stopped traditional ways of cooking (from scratch) and heavily rely on foods loaded with preservatives and chemicals added as anti-caking agents (almost any powdered substance bought in a bottle or box; spices, gravy mixes, cake and desert mixes) . Maybe it could be the amount of genetically modified foods we are eating and not being warned on a label or told by the stores who sell these products. An article I recently read said that 95 percent of the soybeans sold in the world are from genetically modified seeds. http://www.agriculture.purdue.edu/aganswers/story.asp?storyID=5296

Has anyone checked their cupboards to see which foods they eat on a regular basis contain soybean oil or soybeans? Canola oil which is supposed to be so "healthy" for us comes from soybeans and is sold for roughly $3 a bottle. What the label on our canola oil doesn't tell us is whether or not the soybeans, from which the oil was extracted, were grown from genetically altered seeds. Yet another theory I have is microwaving is bad! So many people microwave their food and don't really know what they are doing to the food itself (besides heating it).

From FOLLOWING ARTICLE--- " In commercial models, the oven has a power input of about 1000 watts of alternating current. As these microwaves generated from the magnetron bombard the food, they cause the polar molecules to rotate at the same frequency millions of times a second. All this agitation creates molecular friction, which heats up the food. The friction also causes substantial damage to the surrounding molecules, often tearing them apart or forcefully deforming them. The scientific name for this deformation is "structural isomerism". "

I have been microwave free for over a year, my family thinks I'm crazy, cooking everything from scratch and on the stove, in the oven or the bbq. As my views on our world and government have changed in recent years I don't believe I am crazy, just extremely cautious. Good luck to all of you taking these medications. Personally I would do as much research on what you are eating as possible, cook your food the "old fashioned" way and stop supporting the pharmaceutical companies who are suckking the life and freedom out of our once great nation.

I have to correct one thing.  Canola is NOT from soy.  It is a member of the mustard family. BUT most canola  is also genmod.

Watch every label, don't eat soy, don't eat non-organic, haven't had a microwave in...a decade or more?

Don't suffer stomach issues, either.

I'm also microwave free now. It's truly a good feeling in more ways than one. Thanks for the great info in this post Chris!

Can't Go Wrong
===============

The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a
thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that
cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be
impossible to get at or repair.
