I’m just an infinity puppet
Wonder if I can put up with it
Forgot about what was the pre-requisite
Elements of human tragedy too closely knit,

They tell me not to look back
At all those memories on the attack
Never quite had the knack
Carrying those regrets upon my back,

Need some kind of escape to take up the slack
Seems my consciousness has slipped through the cracks
We gamble with our lives daily as though on a racetrack
It’s a sense of humanity we all lack,

All that we take from each other without thinking
Sometimes I think society’s ship is sinking
Even now as orbital satellites are linking
The love you had gone as you were blinking,

Wondering why you were staring
Without the grace you could be sharing
Searching the universe for someone who’s caring
Somehow in life I lost my bearings,

Crossing the battlefield of the brain dead
It is to this point in time I’ve been led
All the lessons of history they never read
Generations intentionally misled,

Isolation is an unfaithful companion
Like venturing into Hells Canyon
Somehow I lost sight of the plan
There seems today to be an intellectual ban.
