Hurricane Sandy - Eyes Wide Shut?
Its a crying shame - but then again - several politicians don't know, the meaning of the word shame.
THE UNITED STATES PENTAGON, was able to put in place, in a very short space of time, I must add; several thousands of soldiers, and, all sizes, shapes and weights, of equipments, most of which comprised; Weapons of Mass Destruction - And, 'they' this, across thousands of miles, on the international soil of IRAQ - But the GOVERNMENT of "THE UNITED STATES", still can't seem to locate, all the suffering human beings, in New Jersey, New York, and all other areas, where there are currently, victims of hurricane Sandy.
These human beings (victims), are suffering, much more today, than they did yesterday - it was only 27 degrees where I live, and probably not too far off in the devastated areas of New York either.
I don't know what the level of reporting is; post Hurricane Sandy - and outside of New York - but there doesn't seem to be much - definitely not enough.
Here's the deal: This is Katrina, with cold weather!
And with; about the same amount of help, (lack of) from FEMA, RED CROSS, and the PRESIDENT (again).
So its next to nothing!
This video (yesterday), was taken in and around "Far Rockaway", Queens - and it sums up the CURRENT conditions - getting worse with every passing hour too - and there's another storm (Nor'easter) on the way.

Sandy II: Another storm heading towards US coast

New Delhi: New York and New Jersey could face the wrath of another storm that could bring in more rain and coastal floods.
According to news report, National Weather Service predicted that another storm with winds measuring 55 mph could compound the problems of the people of NY and NJ.
People were advised to stock up and stay indoors as weather department predicted more power outages. The new storm would not be as fearsome as hurricane Sandy but the high winds of Nor''easter' could still disrupt the lives of people. Nor''easter' is expected to hit East Coast of US on Wednesday.
The highest gusts of wind would touch 40 mph in NYC and eastern Long Island will witness maximum wind speeds.
More than 20,000 people, displaced by last week Hurricane Sandy, in NYC require new place to live as winter sets in. The present location does not provide adequate heating facility.

“This nor’easter will have greater impact than usual because of the impacts of coastal storm Sandy,” Gaines said by telephone. “It’s another storm on top of an area that really doesn’t need another storm.”
The winds from the storm may crack and topple branches weakened by Sandy and coastal flooding may hit areas that were inundated last week. Sandy hit New York and New Jersey killing at least 90 and leaving about 8.5 million homes and businesses without power at its peak. The storm may have caused $10 billion to $20 billion in insured damage, according to Hiscox Ltd. (HSX), the biggest Lloyd’s of London insurer by market value.
The cold from the new storm may boost energy demand as people turn up thermostats to heat homes and businesses. About 1.9 million people were still without power yesterday, according to the U.S. Energy Department.

Exactly!
But what makes me wonder, and strangely, angry too - so call me cynical - is when here we have, again, the raising of millions of dollars, and by some big name CORPORATIONS - but in reality; it simply ends up going into a "not for profit organization", where the donors themselves, not only enjoy a good tax deduction, which they need anyway, due to the extreme profits they make - they are also able to enjoy these, their own contributions ($41 million dollars), via a closely guarded, back door policy.

I think there is a renewed need to Occupy NYC - The Bloomberg and Cuomo facilities in particular.
Better yet, there should be a nation wide "sit in" protest, in the name of the victims of Sandy - everyone should stay at home for a day or two, and demand that "the powers that be" get up off their A$$E$, and really help these folks.
