I Just Can’t Say

Did I live my life led astray?

Begging most of my little go-getters to stay

Take a knee baby and maybe pray

What I’ll do next I just can’t say,

Who are you to judge me so bad?

When I’ve done all self-recrimination any man ever had

You might guess I sometimes get sad

At being such a foolish lad,

Can’t say I know where the cards will lay

Whenever there’s judgment day

Too many alligators right now that I have to slay

Remembering all those dues that I had to pay,

The wheels of fortune seem to grind slow for me

The wheels of justice even grind slower don’t you see?

Like every fool in this galaxy seeking to be free

I got in so deep I could no longer see,

At that stage of life now where I have to sum it all up

No lovely lady here to put sugar in my cup

Funny how the flow of life you can interrupt

Especially when the powers that be are so corrupt,

Any way out of this I’ve prayed to God

No matter what we do we’ll end up under the sod

Seems I’m between here and Frankenstein’s lightning rod

Seems like events on planet earth are a bit odd.
