If Illusions are Better

If this is a dream don’t ever wake me

Thought my love had washed out to sea

I wonder what kind of illusion this could be

Don’t think I can survive the recovery,

If illusions are better than reality

I’ll gladly take that sanctuary

If love is a phantom then it’s my cup of tea

Let your hair fall all around so gently,

I see entities within the runway lights

Sometimes I’m so tired of the continued fight

Got to make it through this endless night

Hanging on with all my might,

Haven’t had the faintest hint of love yet

Seems that being human is a tradeoff bet

Seems I’ve fallen through every safety net

Everybody rushing to see what they can get,

Hello goodbye and the Catcher in the Rye

Make sure you get an eye for an eye

To live on the street you must be crafty and sly

But what about the victims do you ever ask them why?

Celestial beings in the air at night

Will we ever surpass our existential plight?

It seems no one knows wrong from right

Seems the noose is getting ever so tight,

Hoping to find a reason for going on

Don’t want to keep singing this lonely song

A mist of water droplets decorate the lawn

Perhaps there’s a another chance in a new dawn.
