LOL, there is a resemblance and that's what the casting director is looking for. I don't understand why folks still hold a grudge against someone for something they did in their 20's. Were you perfect at that age? I certainly wasn't.
That post that I did was an email sent by a friend of mine, no link was provided....at the time....
However, a quick search of "Jane Fonda Nancy Reagan Movie" (without the quotes) on Google produced a plethora of links. To answer your question, the second one on the list was something about what you are looking for and dated only about three days ago....

Hi, Youhavetforgiveme,
I am trying to find proof that Jane is actually going to play Nancy Reagan in a movie. There is no link on your post, so how did you get this info and can you verify it? Jane was very young and idealistic during the Vietnam War like many of those who were protesting on college campuses all across the country. The only difference was that she was an actress with a famous father and that got the media's attention. This was a war that should never have happened and it's a tragedy for both the Vietnamese and those Americans who were drafted.
Listen (YOU HAVE TO FORGIVE ME) - The folks (3 million) in Viet Nam that were being slaughtered then and until this very day - did not have the choice to grow drugs, mine coal or live on welfare - (why not) they were and are still being slaughtered (Agent Orange) - in the name of and by the US, does the word Phsyco - I have heard time and time again - a statement by very many US citizens that goes like this - "Americans are basic very decent people, etc etc etc" - You personaly may not have intended your comment to be about (X, Y, Z) - it is totally immaterial what your intentions were - your words - just like the endless slaughter of innocent folks by your government and fellow country men and women - (Has Consequences) and whether you want to or not - (You - just like all the other men and women in your country) has to be responsible for both your words and your actions, it is the law of nature.
Looks like I'm on the verge of creating another ruckus ;)
I never intended this post to be about the Vietnam Conflict (War, Genocide, All terms apply here except "Police Action" or the latest euphemism thereof) in and of itself. The war never was about Democracy-- not really. Too many people in power forgot what war was really like-- or they didn't and they knew that it wasn't their son that was going to go fight and probably die in it. My point here is that the guy in the jungle with a rifle didn't start the war and often was either drafted (involuntarily) or was recruited before the war started from a poorer community where the only cash crops available are things like mining coal until you have black lung, grow drugs until you are in prison for distribution, and welfare fraud. It doesn't seem so bad when you first sign up-- and then later they want you to test their new toys on other humans.
I have to agree with Lloyd on this.
All the characters in this article - are (American) - Fortunately - I am not - Very sorry - (2) wrongs does not make (1) right - If the war (Genocide) by America and Americans in Viet Nam - was evil - Absolutely nothing that is said against this (Genocide) - then the person or persons making these comments cannot be regarded as a - (Traitor) - It does not matter what rank you have in the Army - Navy - Air Force - Special Forces - etc etc etc - You are part of and willingly committed (Genocide) in Viet Nam - vis-a-vis (The Golf of Tong King - incident) - You have devoted your life to the genocide of others - Fonda is an actress - she never was god or the devil - her words did not kill millions of people - (You did) and still do with agent (Orange) - and you are still proud of your crime - because the US government (may have) forced you to commit these (Crimes Against Humanity) - does not excuse the fact that (YOU) committed these unspeakable crimes against your fellow humans -
In a 29 December 1970 editorial titled 'Freedom' Hoax, The News and Courier (South Carolina) reported that: "At Duke University, she engaged in the following dialog (as reported by Jesse Helms on WRAL-TV):
Fonda: "I believe that we have to strive for a transition to a socialist society. First..."
Interviewer: "How far?"
Fonda: "All the way to communism. I mean I think we should, uh, I think we should all study what the word means and I believe that if everyone knew what the word meant we would all be on our knees praying that we would, as soon as possible, be able to live under, uh, within a communist structure."
