In 1991 a Social Credit government in Victoria asked British Columbians if we wanted Direct Democracy.
83% of us said yes. Every electoral district in BC voted overwhelmingly “Yes”, some as high as 88%.
An NDP government took over from the Socreds and gave us the unworkable “Recall and Initiative Act, and even that was not binding on government.
Devious BC governments ever since have all been content to keep the people out of the decision-making process. Neither the so-called party of the people, the NDP, or the privatizing party of the people, the BC Liberals, intend to allow real Direct Democracy.
The BC Refederation Party will order the entire BC Civil Service to run this province in accordance with the will of the majority of citizens. But the citizens must vote the party into power first.
You still want direct voting ? - you want a say in how the province will be run ?
Then send the BC Refederation Party the name of a provincial party that will pass direct democracy legislation within 100 days of taking power in Victoria.
Then vote for BC Refederation party.
