Missouri Anti-Real ID Bill Passes the Senate in a Landslide!
After passing the House with a 53% vote, there was high anxiety waiting for HB361 to make it on the Senate calendar, then nail-biting ensued as we waited for it to come up on the Senate floor for debate and finally make its way to a vote.
Campaign for Liberty members kept up the phone calls and emails to the Senate floor leader, the Senator in charge of getting it on the calendar, and all of the Senators to respectfully ask them to vote YES.
As votes were being taken on the floor this afternoon, one Senator had voted No, then decided to change his vote to Yes, for a final vote of 43 to 0!
The bill is on its way to the Governor's desk to sign and Missourians are making phone calls to Governor Nixon to politely ask that he sign Representative Jim Guest's House Bill 361 which was unanimously passed in the Senate today.
Representative Guest is in his last term in the House. He has worked tirelessly with legislators across the U.S. for years campaigning against Real ID, and this year he was named as Chairman of the Real ID Committee. We are thrilled to share in his victory!
Thanks to Jim and all of our Missouri members, we are just one signature away from FREEDOM
