My Epiphany
Self-imposed isolation almost as bad as castration
Becoming the nation’s great sensation
Requiring even more medication for the population
As a result of the dehumanization,
Just when you’d thought you’d had enough
More misinformation and fluff
Despite all the inflation making it even more tough
Please be gentle my Dear your tone is a bit rough,
There was a time when I had hopeful dreams
Without paranoia or the victim’s screams
My epiphany that things are not the way they seem
Just another horse fly in the cream,
Remembering when I was quite a dandy
Women flowed through my fingers like candy
Yet, I never met a girl named Mandy
Making love on beaches so serene and sandy,
Now alone without a wife it’s a different life
My umbilical cord has been cut with a knife
Witnessing a world of heartbreak and strife
No one would could care for my advice,
Carrying these sad memories of love and loss
Your fate can be decided on a coin toss
Like a rolling stone gathering moss
They laughed at my savior upon a cross,
Carrying around these mental scars
Like war wounds and singles bars
Waiting for a message from the stars
Her skirt thrown across the backseat of my car.
