For more than 100 years now the Bermuda Triangle has mystified researchers who have tried to account for logical explanations to the disappearances of modern ships, aircraft, and those aboard them. From the famous loss of 6 US Navy planes in 1945 (Flight19) to the vanishing of the, USS Cyclops, a World War One era ore freighter, the unexplained realm continues to elude reasonable causes as the region seems reluctant to give up its secrets.. We will explore some plausible explanations here and some disturbing developments as well.

Geography of the manifestation

From a triangular line that can be drawn from Miami, Florida to Bermuda, and then to San Juan, Puerto Rico, a 500 thousand square mile patch of the North Atlantic Ocean approximately the size of the State of Alaska seems to be the most famously unpredictable body of water on earth. Explanations range from the large concentrations of magnetite that can cause strange electromagnetic distortions and disrupt navigation to the sudden upwelling of frozen nitrates on the sea floor that can thaw and rise to the surface creating an explosive release of gas destroying buoyancy and sinking ships, still the staggering losses of aircraft and surface ships evade definitive answers.

Natural threats

To make matters even more confusing are the meteorological conditions that make nature’s known processes incredibly formidable for the mariner or pilot to endure. Water spouts, micro bursts, hurricanes, and sudden unpredictable storms often cause the distress signals coming into the Coast Guard to rescue recreational boaters, cruise ships, fishermen, and private aircraft who run afoul of the perilous region. The bottom of the ocean in the Bermuda Triangle is littered with single engine planes that may have been stolen, used for illegal drug smuggling, or intentionally sunk for insurance purposes, merchant shipping sunken during storms, and aircraft that have encountered magnetic clouds that disorient compasses and onboard navigation instruments often cause crashes that simply cannot be explained.

Worldwide calamity?

However, modern science has come to some disturbing conclusions after correlating other factors together with the mysterious Bermuda Triangle effects. There seems to be a relationship between this forbidden zone and the magnetic north pole. Over the years the magnetic north and south poles have been unstable and changing position. Some climatologists are convinced that this magnetic flux could be the precursor of a physical shift in the Arctic and Antarctic which could cause a catastrophic global change in position of the earth’s axis which could cause the surface of the earth to be scoured by 3 thousand mile an hour planetary winds that could even cause the oceans to be uprooted their basins to flood the entire surface of the globe as the position of north and south are radically transformed. Has this happened before thus obliterating civilization? According to Emmanuel Velikovsky, yes! His books such as “Ages in Chaos” and “Worlds in Collision” do make a strong case for such events.

More forbidden zones?

Ivan T. Sanderson, a former WWII British intelligence officer, author, biological scientist, Ufologist, and popular TV show host drew proven data indicating existence of up to 13 electromagnetic triangular disturbance regions around the globe. He believed, as did Author, John A. Keel that these areas were linked by ley lines to ancient structures. As a matter of fact, there is another well-known area of oceanic disturbance near Guam another vanishing zone for surface ships and aircraft.

It’s coming ashore?

Recently, over the last 4 years an increasing rate of unexplained disappearances are occurring just 100 miles off the US Eastern seaboard of Carolina. Ship sinking’s and even the unexplained disappearance of a jet passenger airliner only 100 miles out to sea when radio contact was suddenly lost. Evidence seems to indicate now that a shift in the position of the Bermuda Triangle to a north easterly course has been underway at about 35 miles per year! Scientists believe it is related to the fluctuation of the magnetic north pole position. This means that it won’t take long for the Bermuda Triangle to be hovering over land in the US and creating electromagnetic havoc with communications, navigation, satellite reception, and radio transmission. A way to harden or shield wiring and devices must be found before the Bermuda Triangle makes landfall over the US coastal region.
