Not Enough Life Rafts
It’s two in the morning and I can’t sleep
The slippery slope of life is too steep
The turmoil they create I’m in it knee deep
I can’t live among these blindfolded sheep,
Existing in the deserted bad lands of delusion
Where our own government feeds us illusions
The rulers thrive on spawning confusion
Watch out my friend you could get a contusion,
Watching life pass me by
Watching others swallowing the “Big Lie”
Wasting my time wondering what happened to you and I
Way past the urge anymore to cry,
Life is continual punishment for those who are true
Time to abandon ship alert the crew
Only enough life rafts to save a few
There’s too many of us who haven’t got a clue,
Too many people who are becoming unstable
Needing to become better informed but they’re unable
They’d rather get angry when logic and reason are on the table
The lynch mob who hung an innocent man from the gables,
I came to you with an open heart gullible and unwise
You were but another victim who had learned to victimize
Like a well-trained pet begging for the prize
All I could see was deceit and anger in your eyes,
Two in the morning and sleep evades me
It seems that life won’t hear my plea
Answers are few and only to a certain degree
The fools who can’t even identify the true enemy.
