Not Meant to Last
Self-medication it seems part of the flawed equation
Always coping with the alienation
Forever groping for a good vibration
At least it numbs me to the frustration,
I feel the society slipping away
But they tell me that God has a better way,
Serene moments not meant to last
Tormented by a controversial past
A world declining much too fast
At times I certainly feel outclassed,
I feel the society slipping away
But they tell me that God has a better way,
Slipping into the darkness of the night
Sometimes losing my will to fight
At least I can distinguish wrong from right
Does it take a hand gun so others will be more polite?
I feel the society slipping away
But they tell me that God has a better way,
You have no idea what you did to this man
Your damaged soul must have had a plan
Our future was nothing more than washed away sand
More abandonment than I could possibly stand,
I feel the society slipping away
But they tell me that God has a better way.
