The second piece to the 21st century New World Order puzzle will require that President-elect Obama sell Americans and the world to continue to fight the War on Terror, a war that could last generations. War is important for governments, regimes, fifth columns and foreign banks because it controls population and usually bankrupts nations involved in the conflict. War torn nations will often give up control over their infrastructures to foreign banks to pay off the debt that was borrowed to fund the war, therefore war and financial control are two aspects that are used in tandem to further the New World Order agenda.

The effects of terrorism have been manipulated by the US government to get Americans and the world to rally around the common enemy, Islamic extremists, and their ideology of a jihad upon Western Civilization. The war on terrorism came into fruition after the attacks of September 11, 2001, and on that day the 21st century New World Order agenda was born. In fact, Council on Foreign Relations member Gary Hart even suggested that President George W. Bush should use the September 11 attacks to carry out a new world order. The 9/11 attacks were then used as a pretext to invade Afghanistan in 2002, and Iraq in 2003.

In 2002, Barack Obama, then Senator of Illinois, spoke at a rally and denounced the Iraq war. At the beginning of the 2008 election campaign season, Obama briefly gained the support from America's anti-war constituency by declaring that he was against the war war despite the fact that he voted in favor of funding the war with no time frame for troop withdraw. Obama was then taken to task about his vote, where he then reiterated his stance: he was not anti-war, but he was against the Iraq war because it shifted the focus from Islamic militant threats in Afghanistan in Pakistan.

The future of the United States within the New World Order was solidified by the appointment of Sen. Joe Biden as Obama's candidate for president. Biden not only voted for the Iraq war, but also used his position as chair of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee to block dissenting voices in demanding the truth about Iraq's weapons production capabilities. Vice President-elect Biden has also been under intense media and public scrutiny for declaring that a generated crisis is guaranteed to happen and will force Obama to make unpopular decisions, including decisions related to foreign policy. The fact that Biden stated that at least five different scenarios could occur has left many to speculate how they will affect the current world order.

Obama has now been declared President of the World by Germany's largest magazine, Der Spiegel. Obama has spoken on the world stage in July 2008 with his historic speech in Berlin and called on Europe to come together to defeat terrorism. In essence, Obama has rallied the world for more war, however it remains to be seen how war-weary Americans will react when they realize that they aren't going to get the change they had hoped for.
