On The Move Tonight

You said you would pray and wouldn't go away
But instead, you went astray anyway
And I just have to say
I think my tears were lost in the haze,

You seem to specialize in tarnishing a man's crown
Could you just possibly slow down?
Take your place in life’s hidden compound
What do I hear? That mournful sound,

You just didn’t know how to lighten my day
You just couldn’t change your wicked ways
All those regrettable moments that make us pay
You could steal the light and make it gray,

One day I'm sure I'll be found
Six feet under the ground
I'll no longer have to hear the sound
Of an unfaithful woman coming unwound,

Nothing endearing or profound

Seems like there’ll be no rebound

Where are those revelations to astound?

If only I could be homeward bound,

As free as a missile through the atmosphere

If you could just make your intentions clear

Living in a world of constant fear

But when you need them there’s no one near,

Sand castles about to be washed from the shore

All those loves you so adored

All those evils that you deplore

At times, you wonder what you’re living for,

The surveillance state is in your bed

The thought police are in your head

Destruction of the civil society your dread

They’ll make every excuse that’s ever been said,

Artificial intelligence is on the move tonight

Planning against man with all its might

The sleepwalkers might as well go fly a kite

An ominous party to which you didn’t get an invite.
