so like drones(i don't have the elec meter done yet, as i have a different meter for solar, but for gas, they use a STAR and the rest i cannot read, there is 2 patents and under star, is maybe it's parent, A SEALED UNIT, and when the 2 maybe batteries, they say don't recharge, so a cap of sort?? or maybe the mechanics coming from the gas meter moves or vibrates something to keep those up??

if you want more info ask, like the drone it can be jammed with low watt transmitter as the receiver's per pge are .... sorry forget but it was 1 per50-75 sq yards or something the key is the freguency, or wrap the thing in lead, if it bloks raditaion, it should HF waves or UHF as i think back uhf was(not exact) 200Mhz-say 500Mhz

so enjoy if you want me to figue the meter out< i'll get one but already belive the signal is transmitted on the ac cable on a sideband maybe, or someway.  and have not looked at another to see if its the same freq, which it may or maynot.  the stated freq, could be wrong, thats why if you know the if you'll get the right frequency. just like how to kill a drone, but mech less power,
