Phantom Obsessions

No one's who they say they are
How did it ever get this far?
Should I wish upon a shooting star?
No answers at the local bar.

My fatal venture on this planet
Not the way I ever planned it
Where's the truth looks like they banned it
Their rigid stares just like granite,

The deterioration of my land
Seems it's all out of our hands
Surgical centers for all the trans
It seems all critical thinkers just ran,

Everyone wears a mask of deception

Too late for the truth reception

Amazed at the immaculate conception

I think we're headed for a lethal correction,

The days go by like phantom obsessions

Just like government promises of no recession

That's what they said before the Great Depression

The deceivers always make a lasting impressions,

She was ready to take her life that day

All semblance of joy had gone astray

Seemed no reason to try and convey

Still her apparition stays,

The invaders are biding their time

As our government hides the crime

The people's lives won't be worth a dime

Few will be there to hold the line,

Thought I could count on you

Words you said I thought were true

Of liars I've always taken a dim view

No one left to carry through,

You say you're about to lose your mind

There's always solace in his grace you'll find

But you're just that skeptical stubborn kind

You can always capitulate if so inclined,

On my way to Never Never land

I've left all fears in the mighty one's hands

We've come to opposition we can never  withstand

Mankind compromised by disrupted plans.
