Perception is reality. Reality is realtive to the observer. Is it possible to view absolute reality or is that not a possible view point. I believe that all of our observations of the world are skewed by one thing or another. Our desire to mold reality into what we want it to be is a huge obstacle to overcome. Most people are comfortable being lead, maybe it's part of our nature as a social species to move as a heard. Few people break away from this herd mentality. People who break away see a little more clearly, the large picture and objectives of the group. Some move to a position of authority and some are so individualistic that they question that authority. Oversimplfying, there are two forces at work here, with some in the middle. These two opposing forces are positive or negative in nature. I've noticed a focus on the negative-authority "problem". I agree that "problem" definately exist. The only way to change the system is from the inside and that means infiltration of the system. I find it hard to go against my individualistic beliefs to become part of that solution because that means taking on an authoritarian role. It is true that power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely but we have fought to make sure that those in power cannot have absolute control. I hope that people wake up and participate in the critical thinking needed to keep the power driven aristocracy in check because with all that's been happening it seems as if they are making a move to consolidate their position in the world. Their position in the world includes the rest as us being subservient. Knowledge is power and since they can't keep it away from us like they did in medieval times, all they can do is pump as much counter knowledge and false information as they can into the system. They are afraid of the coming change and revolution which is an inevitable part of the cycle of growth. When they control it there is no growth. They seek to subdue, alter, supress, dominate permantly, the true system themselves but they cannot. Change is a law of the universe, it is a constant on every level from the smallest to the largest. I hope that if I were one of the 1% I would not act as some of them do. Maybe it's fear that drives them to hold so tightly to their positon because the only direction for them is fall from position. They fail to realize the unity we all share and can be a part of. Selfishness breeds hatred and intolerance due to a lack of understanding. Courage is abscent in selfishness. The way to conquer the masses is to take their focus off of you and redirect it at each other. Create religion to fight over, exaggerate the differences in race, culture, political view, nationality, anything that creates division. Divide and conquer.
