Road to Eternity

Walking through world of pain

It can get to be a mental drain

All the ideologies that are insane

So many who can’t hold up under the strain,

Swept up as if by tornadic winds

Children who have never sinned

Unforeseen consequences never determined

Where do all the myths begin?

Awake in the wee hours of the night

When all the angels have taken flight

Even my personal demons are out of sight

Being alone, the most demoralizing fright,

A spacecraft landed from another world

Unexplained as each moment is unfurled

A fiery Polynesian torch in the night is twirled

A nocturnal princes her hair so finely curled,

Impressions that race across my mind

Reaching for any solace I might find

Trapped in a world that has become unkind

Hoping to meet a savior so divine,

Been alone for so intolerably long

Lord, where did I go wrong?

The timeless echo of a familiar song

Remembering when I used to be strong,

Stranded and alone on the road to eternity

Caught in an existence of uncertainty

Betrayed too many times in matrimony

Wish I was drifting in the Sea of Tranquility.
