Sen. Inhofe Backs 47-Word Bill To Repeal 2,400-Page Health Care Law

March 23, 2010, (CNSNews.com)By CNSNews.com Staff

Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.)

– Senator Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) announced today that he is supporting a 47-word long bill to repeal the 2,400-page long health care bill that was passed by Congress and signed into law by President Barack Obama on Tuesday.

The text of the legislation backed by Inhofe and introduced by Sen. Jim
DeMint (R-S.C.) reads as follows:
“To repeal the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SECTION 1. REPEAL. The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, and the amendments made by that Act, are repealed.”

In a statement about his support for the proposed repeal, Inhofe said, “I stand with the majority of the American people in opposing the awful government takeover of our health care system. Repealing this legislation is the only way we can start over with meaningful reforms that will improve our health care system – not turn it into socialized medicine.”

“The tax increases, cuts in Medicare, and the provisions that allow taxpayer funds to be used for abortions are all unacceptable,” said Inhofe. “I appreciate Senator DeMint’s efforts on this, and I look forward to working with my colleagues in doing all we can to repeal Obama’s health care plan.”

The 10-section, 2,400-page-long health care law, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, was passed by the Senate on Dec. 24, 2009, and by the House of Representatives on March 21, 2010 – the vote in the House was 219 to 21

Hey Marie, you know what they say about the oldest profession, well I believe that's a lie.

The oldest profession is protection, they beat you up, burn you down etc. and then you buy protection.

I'll give him credit for one thing.... It occurred to me several months ago (probably hanging around here too much) that the Declaration of Independence was written in six pages (if memory serves me)....

If you can't say it in six pages, then it doesn't need to be said!
