Skin So Smooth and Bare
Oh my Baby that I could almost laugh
Thinking of you as my better half
Like a cougar preying on a calf
Almost revived by a medical staff,
I plunged down into a dark abyss
Thought I heard a serpent hiss
Recalling what we had was bliss
The taste of your poison kiss,
Obsessively shopping for the clothes you wear
Tricked into making me feel like you cared,
I wonder how I got the thousand yard stare
Haunted by your skin so smooth and bare,
Although I'm rational most of the time
There's some mountains I refuse to climb
You made me feel like I wasn't worth a dime
Force the beast back into the slime,
Oh my Baby that I could almost laugh
Thinking of you as my better half
Like a cougar preying on a calf
Almost revived by a medical staff,
As day becomes my night
I hang on and try not to lose the fight
Good weather friends say hang on tight
I swallowed an illusion with all my might,
A mountain lion doomed to roam
No real place can be my home
The thunder clouds of being alone
Emotions as cold as stones,
Obsessively shopping for the clothes you wear
Tricked into making me feel like you cared,
I wonder how I got the thousand yard stare
Haunted by your skin so smooth and bare,
The little man stumbled on a toy
Convinced he was no longer a little boy
But, dark forces were already deployed
Now he wakes in the night all paranoid,
Funny I thought someone was here
That strange noise seemed a bit queer
I actually dreamed of you that was clear
The little boy deep inside shed a tear.
