The Sochi Olympics begin very soon, and while many are excited about this, some of us are trying to read between the lines. In the past few weeks we’ve seen a campaign to condition inform us of any threat of terror at the Sochi games.

First it was black widows, and suicide bombers. Then came non-specific warnings. In the past few days we’ve seen warnings regarding “toothpaste terrorists” (yeah, really) and more non-specific warnings. We’ve seen polls that say more than half of Americans believe a terror attack will occur at the winter Olympics this year. Just a few days ago, a “specific threat” was announced by U.S. officials:
