Like a gust of wind that blew down a tree
She left me
Oh Lord make me into a dolphin so I can
drift out into the sea,
Looking back will never change
Your future which has now been rearranged
The joy the loneliness and the pain
All I can feel is the rain,
Those lessons that seem to appear
Strike you down when loved ones are near
Where are they when you need them?
Nowhere, a most sad requiem,
Let me escape into the darkened sky
Where I can never be burned by a lie
Where Satan smiles and Cherubs cry
Young children should never die,
Who is this stranger in the mirror?
I see my demise growing ever nearer
As all the lies she told become clearer
When love becomes the worst of your fears,
Where is this world today
How to keep the wolves at bay
Too many lovers leave rather than stay
Hearts cold and made out of clay,
Like a gust of wind that blew down a tree

When you're young you can take the pain
It just becomes a persistent stain
The hurtful emotions don't remain
But now there are endless clouds and rain,
In another life I might have been
Strong enough that I could once again begin
I'm discarded now in a dust bin
A forgotten toy soldier of rusted tin,
Reality has a brutal way of teaching us
That there were many things not worth the fuss
That too many things are unjust
That there is very little we can trust,
Lord make me whole again
It seems some hearts can never mend
Some sins we can never defend
It would be nice just to find a friend,
