Tale of the Modern Woman

Although she dresses like a librarian

She thinks of herself as a libertarian

In actuality she’s a bit of a contrarian

Thinks she’s entitled to a Hollywood stallion,

When she gets home really late

Her husband believes her story and takes the bait

She just can’t seem to find the perfect mate

She feels unappreciated seems to be her fate,

All her girlfriends tell her it’s okay to leave him

As she tells her personally orchestrated whim

Telling her one sided story doesn’t seem like such a sin

She thinks of making love as her just giving in,

Little does she realize that it’s all the same

Actually she belongs in the plain Jane hall of fame

She can’t see her attitude makes it all the more in vain

Just another adulteress in a world gone insane,

She’s a bit older is she a cougar you can tame

All the stories of her life seem a little bit lame

Getting away with what she can seems to be her game

All be told this woman has no shame,

In other societies women like this get cained

But in good old America this behavior just can’t be restrained

In front of her kids she will shout out something profane

She just can’t see why her husband chooses to remain,

Whatever happened to the dedicated spouse?

Weren’t that many home wreckers to break up a happy house

Not that unusual to smell men’s cologne on her blouse

Because she regards her husband at home as nothing but a mouse.
