The Confusion
Your love made me an indentured servant on a ship
Nothing more than a lost radar blip
All those experiences I have to skip
The sacrificial relationship,
Now there’s a mysterious sea of blue
The inaccessible distance between me and you
To think I would have seen things through and through
I was always a romantic fool,
Thought I could distinguish between the illusions
But, instead I got caught up in the confusion,
Just let me sleep in peace for a day
Those mushroom clouds seem to get in my way
Seems the price mankind must pay
But, no one will listen to what I have to say,
We’re all encapsulated in our little bubbles
All hung over with razor stubble
Always with antennas up for signs of trouble
A burial ceremony for the perfect couple,
What happened to you my Dear?
You admitted you lost your mind that was clear
I’m afraid no miracles are near
Driven by uncertainty and fear,
Thought I could distinguish between the illusions
But, instead I got caught up in the confusion,
A wise man admits he doesn’t really know
Even which way the wind blows
Between vultures and scavenging crows
Sometimes I just can’t compose,
Thought I could distinguish between the illusions
But, instead I got caught up in the confusion.
