The Daily Freak Show
The world is so shrill but I’m standing still
Until the insanity gets its thrill
They stand in line to get their prescription refill
This is where the blood will spill,
All the while the demon laughs
As war tears the bodies in half
While a clueless president makes his gaffe
One more shooting to fly the flag at half mast,
The fools that we are
Perhaps get your name in the stars
Intelligence is scarce so far
Find what’s left at the sports grill and bar,
It seems as marriage goes
Domestic violence only seems to grow
You can count on another pandemic don’t you know?
Life has now become a daily freak show,
And you ask where is God?
Does it seem just a little odd?
No worries you’ll be planted in your own piece of sod
When your creator gives the nod,
Forgive me for being sarcastic today
After she left me I was so blown away
I’m constantly reminded how easily things go astray
I’m nothing more than a sentry come what may,
Was it any surprise just how you lied?
Seems you marveled at despair magnified
Put your feelings aside you’ll always be denied
Your downfall will be your own foolish pride.
