She stares like narcissi’s reflective pond
Her mind scattered and yet focused somewhere beyond
How did I lose my earthbound bond?
The meaningless chatter that goes on and on,
The spirits that retreated at the edge of dawn
Like demonic whispers out on the lawn
Soon there will be a chariot of fire horse drawn
And all semblance of sanity will be gone,
Why do I feel like a chessboard pawn?
I must admit to being a bit withdrawn
I’ve always resisted being a call girl’s John
Saving up my money to visit Olympus Mons,
The prophets have predicted everything today
Strange how many die young even when they pray
I can feel it here in the darkness where I lay
The evil ones in this world, when will they pay?
Existence as we know it, this island of fear
The term known as transparency is very unclear
Uncertainty is the rule careful where you steer
Be prepared when everything you know changes gears,
The final chapter is knowledge, what we should know
Yet, for many deception shall be the final blow
When the end comes better have your ducks in a row
Or else be eclipsed by the draconian show.
