Eternal life for free? I do not believe that was the focus of my initial interest or query. Nor do I have the desire to become the backstop to anyone's pontification. I respectfully request to avoid any dogmatic entanglements for the sake of debate. However you are free to say whatever you like, and please, by all means speak candidly.
Here is what I find to be true 99% of the time. Religious followers have a tendency to lock themselves into this figurative room of their cultures religion and presume to know the truth of our existence. From their little room with walls and no skyline they presume to preach "the truth" about the heavens; the truth of our existence and of the world, visions of the future -- all from their little room. Meanwhile, next to them in their little room, is another isolationist locked in their figurative room of their cultures religion, shouting from the doorway their proverbial truth. They all shout so loud from their doors that a funny thing happens. Because they never leave their figurative comfort zone, they never truly see one another. And with all the shouting they never take the time to listen.
They presume to know based on their bias. They blindly grasp at what they want to believe and they miss out on the very thing they so desire to see.
Now anyone here can claim to have studied all of the worlds religions and the history of these religions. They can say they have taken a liberal arts approach. They can stand behind scientific method acknowledging all the while that condemnation without investigation is the height of ignorance. They can claim to have covered all bases. Whether that is true or not is reflected in your sentiments often unbeknownst to most others including yourself.
If it is truth you seek, then do not presume to know how to move the earth from an island. However, if it is comfort you seek then stay on that island.

Let's just agree to disagree. I am not trying to convince you of my beliefs, I can only share with you what I believe from Scientific, Spiritual and documentary knowledge that I came across over many years.

My journey to know "God" is a personal one. That is my choice. I am not here to judge any of you for your beliefs or push my own beliefs upon you. As far as Jesus goes, here is a song and vid by the Doobie Brothers that sums up my feelings quite well. Peace~

Its not about Religion. All religion was designed by Lucifer/Satan to deceive, make money, war, and hide the Truth about Jesus Christ. Jesus is not about Religion, or even Christianity. Jesus is about Salvation and redemption.

You can take or leave what I say, That is why Credibility is not that important to me. Are you not being a little self-righteous! How in the world would you know what Jesus said two thousand years ago, if someone else wrote down what he heard a 100 years later from a friend of a friend of a friend?? You cannot say that you were there, you never meet him! So it is pointless quoting a document that you really don't know the true validity of! You may truly in your mind believe it to be so. You may stake your life on it because you believe it so vehemently! Show us actual proof that what is written in there is 100% correct! The fact is you can't. End of... You have BLIND Faith only. That isn't proof.

WE can know God and he planned on this. This is the purpose of the King James Bible. This is also the purpose of the Holy Spirit. Don't you think that the creator of the known universe once he created it would want to reveal himself. He did through Jesus Christ.

This is exactly why a lot of members haven't chimed into this discussion, because of the emotional attachment that we as human beings hold towards our BELIEFS. Nobody can win an argument over religion because most think their beliefs are right and everybody elses beliefs are wrong. And who can stand here before us today and say that they have all the answers and can back that up with 100% proof? No one can unless you are God almighty himself.
@Andy, lol...."O.k. so we are talking about the God of the universe that created all things, what religion is He?" That's a great question. I don't think anyone can really answer that one because by answering that you would claim to know God better than God himself.
