Wine glass in hand staying one step ahead of depression

Congress is in another corrupt session

Tent cities celebrating the current recession

The government we trusted the source of our oppression,

Tell me how so many can live within their delusion

You can’t just blame it on the confusion

Planted in our minds the wrong conclusion

The shaved ape, a product of evolution?

A prayer by candle at night

To chase away the demons the world invites

Alone in the dark there is no delight

The social unrest the satanic leaders ignite,

Just a step ahead of looming tragedy

The blood of self-inflicted vanity

The cat killed by its own curiosity

Society betrayed by its own apathy,

The new generation of the lobotomized child

Somehow the innocent became beguiled

The corrupt classroom where their minds were defiled

Where is the inheritance of the meek and mild?

The cry of righteousness can you hear that sound?

No, because it’s drowned out by the lies of clowns

There was a time when the heart was homeward bound

Now the charlatans are considered profound,

A violated little princess clings to her dreams

So she can somehow drown out the screams

The night sky illuminated by laser beams
