Tale of the White Knight who fell on his sword

Giving up a life he could not afford

And all just for a Queen who was bored

She married a prince while the knight was ignored,

This is the legacy of a life that we know

Where hearts do break and the blood flows

The realm of the fox where the rooster crows

Feel the tension from your head down to your toes,

On the trail of a mystery not sure how deep it goes

Drawn into hopeless situations and rabbit holes

Must be my destiny who knows?

Measuring the radioactivity on my clothes,

A glowing object blinded me the other night

I was spellbound but not full of fright

Perhaps I should have been in the absence of light

Just trying to balance the scales of wrong and right,

I’m trying to find reason in the midst of the dark

Not often you can divine a spiritual spark

Insults and lies they leave their mark

Somewhere there’s always a circling shark,

To think my world collapsed over someone like you

Coming to my senses was way overdue

Trustworthiness only comes from far and a few

As elusive as the early morning dew,

Evidence of technical civilizations in the ancient past

It seems an epoch that was never meant to last

Your choice a poisonous injection or being gassed

Those with wisdom usually find themselves outcast.
