Friday, March 26th,2010 Former State Senator Nancy Schaefer and her husband, Bruce were found dead in their home. Investigators concluded that Bruce Schaefer, 74, shot her once in the back in the bedroom and then shot himself in the chest. Authorities believe Nancy Schaefer was asleep when she was shot. The media claims that this was a Murder-Suicide pact.

Senator Schaefer was a warrior for children and families that have been victims of a corrupt system we call Child Protective Services or CPS. I say this as one of those victims and stand as a witness against this truly evil plague that has engulfed our Country and is spreading throughout the world.

This diary is not about my personal experiences as a child whom was taken from an physically abusive and alcoholic father and then subjected to sexual abuse at the hands of my "foster family". I will state here for the record, the psychological and sexual violations I suffered at the hands of those claiming "they were helping me", did more damage to me than any spankings or bloody beatings my father ever "dished out". Those simple physical wounds always healed.

Let this diary be a testament and honor to those men and women, like Senator Schaefer, who tried to stop a system that isn't based on helping children but has become a "business model" that exploits and uses the most vulnerable "assets" we have, our children!

What I will share here today is evidence and facts that will shock you, make you cry and then angry. The veil of this evil must be removed and brought into the light of day. This information must be shared with everyone who believes children or our greatest gifts.

I know some here will accuse me of "wanting children" to be abused or worse killed if no one steps in to protect and defend those truly in need. I AM NOT SAYING THAT. No thought could be further from the truth. I would give my very soul to stop the abuse I endured from happening to any other child.

Understand that the system we have created gives bonuses to CPS workers of $4000 per child and a second bonus of $2000 if the child is "special needs", when they are removed from a home. If the child is put into a State institution and medicated, those bonuses and funds continually flow.

This is a federally funded program that President Ford instituted with:
"The Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act of 1974"

ASFA was considered the most sweeping change to the U.S. adoption and foster care system in some two decades.[1] One of ASFA's lead sponsors,

Republican Senator John H. Chafee of Rhode Island, said, "We will not continue the current system of always putting the needs and rights of the biological parents first. ... It's time we recognize that some families simply cannot and should not be kept together."

Senator Schaefer tried to wake her fellow Americans up to the corruption and absurd bureaucracy that has been created "to help save our children".

Some highlights from her report:

**That poor parents often times are targeted to lose their children because they do not have the where-with-all to hire lawyers and fight the system. Being poor does not mean you are not a good parent or that you do not love your child, or that your child should be removed and placed with strangers.

**That caseworkers and social workers are oftentimes guilty of fraud. They withhold evidence. They fabricate evidence and they seek to terminate parental rights. However, when charges are made against them, the charges are ignored.

**The funding continues as long as the child is out of the home. When a child in foster care is placed with a new family then "adoption bonus funds" are available. When a child is placed in a mental health facility and is on 16 drugs per day, like two children of a constituent of mine, more funds are involved.

**The National Center on Child Abuse and Neglect in 1998 reported that six times as many children died in foster care than in the general public and that once removed to official "safety", these children are far more likely to suffer abuse, including sexual molestation than in the general population.

**That according to the California Little Hoover Commission Report in 2003, 30% to 70% of the children in California group homes do not belong there and should not have been removed from their homes.

"Innocence Destroyed"--A graphic & powerful indictment of Child Protective Services.

As he states in this short presentation, a child is 600% more likely to be abused and/or killed while in "protective custody" than had the child been left with their parents.

Please don't fool yourself into thinking that a parent is unfit because they may be poor, or "slow" or because their child is "too fat" or because they won't teach their children "evolution" or for spanking their child when they get out of line or for whatever reason one can come up with next!

This "holier than thou" mentality and attitude is what has gotten us to this point today. It can be very alluring to those who do not take the time to know THE REALITY of those opinions and the public policy that is initiated because of them!

Make a difference in the life of a child, contact your Senators and Congressmen, your local media outlets and demand an accounting and reform of our system before your children become "just another number" or hidden statistic.
