First, I was dying to finish high school and start college

And then I was dying to finish college and start working

Then I was dying to marry and have children

And then I was dying for my children to grow old enough so I could go back to work

But then I was dying to retire

And now I am dying...

Suddenly I realized I forgot to live.

Please don't let this happen to you.

Appreciate your current situation and enjoy each day... old friend.

To make money we lose our health,

and then to restore our health we lose our money...

We live as if we are never going to die,

and we die as if we never lived...

You know, it seems like the very greatest people on the planet have all been murdered. There are many, but the ones that stand out the most are:

John Lennon
Mahatma Ghandi
Martin Luther King, Jr.
John Fitzgerald Kennedy

Having made that statement, what does it say about our society in general? Quite a lot I think.

Thanks Tara.

Slave to the wage and then we die. Yes, indeed. I chose to retire at 50 without much money, none actually. I live on food stamps and the kindness of my girlfriend but I am no longer running on the hamster wheel. I have no money and also need nothing. Fortunately while I worked I was able to accumulate clothes, an above-average computer, a newer vehicle and now Ann and I need nothing which coincides with my position that BUYING NOTHING is the best way to protest.

Your Mom was right Vincent.

Yes Tara, slowing down to recognize what's really important is vital to living properly.

slave to the wage and then ya die.....but i dont think we really die,we just leave our bodies.our spirit lives on.but yes the world is upside down.everyone needs to just stop and think and take a look at whats happening here, all we really are are hamsters having fun on the money wheel while everything thing around us goes to pieces.people need to just stop and think and stop profiting from each other.EVERYONE.

Right on Jeff, it's easy to get ahead of our own lives to realize one day that our life just passed us by while we were too busy to notice. I need to remind myself to slow down and cherish the moments, because when I do there lies my greatest memories of living, loving and learning.
