Do you hate it when someone tells you about a dream they had last night? Do you nod quickly and hope it will be over soon? Me too... so if I was me I wouldn't read all this. To summerize... disapointed (understatement) with USA... laughable and lost dreams of a country... even more laughable and impossible dreams of mine... witty closing involving moving to Canada.

Lately I've been searching for what the American Dream is. People seem to describe it mostly as something they strive to protect or work towards. Few others seem to despise it and turn away. Though I can't seem to tack down a modern American Dream. Is it still the white picket fence with Apple Pie and the laughter of children? Is it making it to Hollywood? Is it starting a small business and having it take off into some grand corporation? Is it that we will all stand together united in harmony? Or something less lofty like lower gas prices?

From what I've seen and read I sure as hell hope it is none of the above because we would be failing miserably. We don't seem to be able to keep a family unit or a house, Hollywood is a joke, and your best bet is to be bought out by Wall mart. And as far as harmony, can you use that word in the same sentence as our country? Or that we would actually stand for anything? We just fall for everything. And as far as gas prices go well I don't need to

When I search for the American Dream online I get a lot of pictures of the red while and blue, jokes, some really fat guys, and this 40s chick with a rifle. I also found a quote from James Turslow Adams where he says in regards to The American Dream "life should be better and richer and fuller for everyone, with opportunity for each according to ability or achievement." This does not seem to be working out.

So I have decided to embrace my idealistic self and write down what MY American dream is. Than as a true American (because a true US citizen only acknowledges ourselves as Americans) I will attempt to push my view point on everyone else, with force or money if possible. (Fortunately for ya'll I have neither but instead a reallylong Dream) I do this as I feel I should feel the dissapointment of all these other dreamers.

My American Dream....
Is to hold my head high when I call myself an American. In my Dream we are a country that leads by example. The example we set is one of respect for free will, freedom and justice. We don't retreat from a promise and we never turn away someone from our country. We never invade someone else's country. Our troops are here and here alone. People may immigrate here and if they please take back the solid values and pure intentions we preach back to their homeland or stay and become one of us. We work in harmony with the environment around us and are not afraid to love Mother Nature. We care about one another not because it is popular or because others may find reason to dislike us (we only want a good excuse to hate our neighbor) if we don't but because we can actually empathize with our fellow man. We never inflict our will over others and there we have few laws and even less police necessary. Drug abuse is eliminated with proper education and knowledge, and by not driving the citzens into depression. Government leaders are honest and listen to their constituents. Police violence is unheard of as the power of the police is never abused.Fox News doesn't exist. We never spend more on war than education or infrastructure. In my Dream I am not an accomplice to murder and I don't feel like spitting on police when I see them. I don't feel a loathing for every politician. I don't feel like a jackass for suggesting that we burn down McDonalds... or that at least we don't include them in Children's Hospitals. I don't feel like a jackass when I tell someone they are a jackass for driving around in a truck they don't use. In my Dream the NSA doesn't monitor every e-mail, text, and phone call I and my fellow citizens make. In my Dream capitalization does not kill inventions like the electric car or light bulbs that would last forever. In my Dream every citizen understands freedom isn't free and does not call on you or your life when it is convenient. In my Dream terrorists are obsolete as their tactics would never work on our citizens. In my Dream other countries would never think to harm us and our ideal of freedom spreads like a plague. In my Dream we don’t use force to push our ideas, especially when we don’t hold to them ourselves. In my Dream we don’t lie or kill. In my Dream we are a good people. In my Dream I'm not afraid of my government.

In my Dream, to look on the face of an AMERICAN is to look upon the face of Honor, Integrity, and a whole lot of pursuit of happiness. We are a happy people.

I dream a lot. I think I'll realize my dream is to move to  Canada and get it over with.
