The Sea of the Mind

Day to day deciphering all these illusions

Yet, only in my dreams can I arrive at any solutions

I witness a waking reality of possible revolution

But, in my sleep I reach other possible resolutions,

Yes, I’m sure the sharks are biting

Baby, take me down in my dreams so inviting

It’s daylight now another UFO sighting

Dream me away from all this fighting,

My limited sphere of influence during the day

Where my chances seem so far away

Sinking into the somnambulant world for a stay

Now I’m oblivious to the chaos and fray,

The possibilities are endless in the sea of the mind

As night closes in I’m trying to find

An escape into these fantasies so divine

I’ve sculpted a new reality so refined,

Under the covers in her arms

Now I can enjoy the warmth of her charms

Only in my dreams where there’s no harm

While outside my window a five bell alarm,

The world is dissolving more quickly than I can think

Each day even more aware that we’re on the brink

Allow me to descend where I will sink

Into the dream asylum where nothing is extinct,

That final round of satanic applause

Always inches from disaster’s jaws

But in my dreams all threats withdraw

A place where I sense perfection not flaws.
