This Life I’ve Bungled
About to dive deep into the hurt and pain
Not like living in the fast lane
Coming from my shadows a cry so profane
She had a mean streak I just couldn’t tame,
Cork screwing downward in flames
Only ghostly reflections remain
Talking down a swine’s mouth so insane
God, I have nothing to gain,
Let’s resume this repeat performance again
Thought I had more sense back then
My actions I wish I could defend
Love, can you hear the message I send?
Used to think I was a righteous man
Fooled myself with my own plans
With merciless little grains of sand
Spilling the blood all over my hands,
Will I change? Just let me kick the can
Further down into the badlands
Where all dreams of happiness are banned
Down where suffering is my own personal brand,
But there’s light at the end of the tunnel
Oh no! It’s a tornadic funnel!
I might as well sing the songs of Beau Brummel
It’s my fault this life I’ve bungled.
